Abstract

Considering the growing environmental problems that are occurring around the world, the need for efficient energy management and energy savings are problems that concern all the inhabitants of the planet. One of the most common solutions to these problems is the installation of solar panels in homes to self-generate the energy necessary for their operation. The economic feasibility of the implementation of a solar panel system in a single-family house in the city of Barrancabermeja was analyzed through a cost analysis, comparing the photovoltaic system with the existing electrical grid, it was determined which is the most economically viable system to replace the current system with a photovoltaic one, concluding that for the urban and rural area where there is an existing electrical grid, the most convenient system is the On Grid system.
