Abstract

The local presentation titled "Technical Concepts in Technological Risk Management" was delivered by Specialist René Fernando Cuestas Guerra. In his talk, Cuestas addressed a fundamental topic for the success and sustainability of organizations in the digital age: technological risk management. In an increasingly digitized and interconnected environment, understanding and properly handling the technical concepts related to this field have become essential competencies.

Cuestas emphasized that as technology integrates into the processes, systems, and services that support operations, the need to identify, assess, and mitigate associated risks arises. He mentioned that failures in systems, security breaches, interruptions in availability, and data vulnerabilities can have devastating consequences, affecting organizations' ability to create value and maintain the trust of their customers and stakeholders.

One of the key concepts discussed was the resilience of systems, which refers to the ability of technological platforms to absorb, adapt, and recover from disruptions or interruptions, whether caused by internal failures or external events. Cuestas stressed that understanding the principles of design, implementation, and monitoring of resilient systems is crucial to ensuring operational continuity and service reliability.

Cybersecurity emerged as another essential pillar in technological risk management. In an increasingly exposed environment to digital threats, it is vital to be familiar with concepts such as vulnerability analysis, patch and update management, and security incident detection and response. These capabilities are fundamental to protecting critical assets and safeguarding the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information.

Additionally, data integrity was addressed, which is fundamentally important in decision-making. Understanding validation, auditing, and information encryption techniques is essential to ensure that the data used in operations is reliable, accurate, and properly protected.

Cuestas also mentioned that technological risk management is not an easy task, but it is essential to ensure the competitiveness, sustainability, and resilience of organizations in today's digital environment. By deepening the knowledge of these technical concepts and strategically integrating them into management practices, organizations can lay the groundwork for a safer and more reliable future.

Finally, the specialist called on attendees to lead the transformation of their industries, promoting a more robust business environment prepared to face the challenges of tomorrow. His presentation not only provided a theoretical framework on technological risk management but also offered practical tools for implementing effective strategies in this crucial area
